Description:

This Labradorite and Blue Agate pendant necklace has a lightness and movement that makes it feel almost otherworldly. I created the open micromacramé breastplate using black and deep blue cord, allowing spaces within the weave to give the necklace a delicate, flowing appearance. Down the center, three beautiful stones form a graceful line: Chrysocolla above, shimmering Labradorite at the center, and a striking blue Agate arrow pendant descending below.

Labradorite belongs to the feldspar mineral family and is treasured for the optical phenomenon known as labradorescence, where internal structures interact with light to produce shifting flashes of blue, green, gold, and other colors. Agate is a form of chalcedony composed primarily of microscopic quartz crystals, famous for the bands, clouds, and patterns created as silica-rich material forms within cavities in rock. Chrysocolla adds another beautiful blue-green element and is a copper-bearing mineral known for colors that can resemble turquoise seas and weathered landscapes.

In crystal traditions, Labradorite is often associated with intuition, transformation, and inner discovery, while Agate is connected with grounding, balance, and stability. Chrysocolla is traditionally associated with communication, tranquility, and personal expression. I love how these three stones seem to balance one another, combining the mysterious light of Labradorite with the vivid blues of Agate and the earthy ocean tones of Chrysocolla.

I kept the knotwork intentionally open and airy so the gemstones could remain prominent rather than disappearing into the design. Small brass beads add warmth against the black and dark blue cord, while the flowing shapes give the necklace an almost fairy-like quality. Although it has the free-spirited character I love in handmade boho jewelry, I think this piece can move easily beyond festival style. I can imagine it worn just as beautifully with an elegant dress or evening outfit, where the Labradorite and brilliant blue stones can become the centerpiece.

To me, The Midnight Fae feels like something discovered between worlds: dark forest shadows, flashes of moonlight, blue water, and delicate wings. It is mysterious without feeling heavy, dramatic without overwhelming the wearer, and designed to let the natural grace and beauty of the stones speak for themselves.
